Pick Me Ups are special targeted acts of kindness that Pilots routinely bestow on deserving individuals and groups. They are meant to lift spirits and give thanks. Past recipients have included nurses, teachers, firemen and other first-responders, and individual caregivers.
Traumatic Brain Injury Camps are respite camps that give caregivers a much-needed rest while adult campers with brain injuries enjoy food, fun and joyful activities. Quitman Pilot Club provides financial support and hands-on help, while also chaperoning members of the teen Quitman Anchor Club who assist the campers in activities. These teens are also in charge of running Bingo, one of the camper’s favorite activities.
Pilots Serve the Community by providing financial support and helping hands for many local needs and events. The club gives financially and/or works for area charitable causes such as the Rainbow Room, the Backpack Program, the East Texas Food Bank Distribution, and the Child Welfare Board’s annual event to bring awareness to child abuse, to name a few.
