“The Great Dam Race”, a 5K, will be held at the SRA Lake Fork Reservoir during the 2022 Simms Bassmaster Elite Fishing Tournament. This race offers the rare opportunity to view Lake Fork from the top of the dam, which is generally closed to the public. The flat 5K course runs along the top of the dam.

At the finish line, collect your finishers medal and pose for a photo commemorating your run. Awards Ceremony immediately follows the race with trophies awarded to 1st – 3rd runners for both women and men. Then hitch a ride to mingle at the Vendor fair and hang around for the Bobby Irwin concert at 1:00 PM.

Packet pickup is offered on Friday, May 20th from 4:30 – 6:30 at FUMC Quitman’s Joy Hall portico. FUMC Quitman is located 406 Lane St 406 Lane St, Quitman with Joy Hall portico entrance is around the corner on N. Goldsmith Street. Race day packet pickup is available at the race venue at Sabine River Authority Dam 353 PR 5183, Quitman, TX 75783

Not quite up for a 5K, join in a 1 Mile fun run or take a leisurely walk across the dam. The dam will be open until 2:00 PM. Then plan to attend the Bassmaster Elite Saturday weigh in at 3:10 (Rides will be available to the Bassmaster stage at the HQ campus).
